Genocide
The collage that I have created is an example of the many groups of people that have been killed or have been witness to genocide. There are many cases of genocide that have taken place over hundreds of years. We need to recognize genocide and care for those people that have lost and been through so much. Millions of people have either suffered loss of family members and friends, loss of their home, or even loss of their life. Genocide is the annihilation of all or part of a racial, ethnic, and/or a religious group. There have been many cases of genocide. Such cases involve the American Indian genocide where approximately 100 million Indians were slaughtered on U.S. soil by European explorers. Another example of genocide took place in Germany from 19331939. The German Nazis killed over 1 million Jewish children, approximately two million Jewish women, and three million Jewish men. This event has come to be known as the Holocaust. While this event seems too horrific to ever happen again, examples in Serbia and Cambodia show that these tragic events could happen at any time. The point is genocide is not the right way to go about solving countries problems. We as a human race need to realize that we can’t let this ever happen again. As long as there are insane, power greedy people that run or have influence over how a country chooses to solve their problems, bad things will happen. Many lives, maybe even an entire race or religious group, could be eliminated unjustly. I feel that genocide should never happen to innocent people that are just trying to live their lives in peace. They should not be brutally tortured and slaughtered. You would think that with the world’s resources today, the United States and other countries that value human life, would be able to identify inhumane acts of this kind and stop them before millions and millions of people get killed. We must not forget the past and learn to take action to end genocide. |

Genocide
The Turks killed over one million Armenian Christians. Hitler killed over six million Jewish people including people of other religions. It is also the most known about genocide in world history. Sodam Hussein wanted to kill his own people in Iraq, with the help of Chemical Ali, ending up killing 10,00-100,000 people. The clan of Hutoos was fighting against the Tootsies, and managed to kill 800,000 of them. And the Arabs began trying to get Africa rid of Black Africans, giving it an “ethnic cleansing”, killing over 300,000.
I think that all of you should try to help, and make people realize that Genocide is still going on all around the world, to this day. Yes you are only one person, but you can make a big change if you try. Maybe get a section in your local newspaper, and write about it, get people to notice. This should not still be going on today. No one deserves this kind of hate, for no reason. Genocide is horrible, and it needs to be stopped.

During the Genocide in Iraq hundreds of thousands of Kurds were killed by the people in the Anfal campaign. The campaign had different stages to it and in this stage they were told to exterminate the Kurdish population. Woman and children were sent to concentration camps and then split up by ages and gender, young boys and adult men were shot in mass graves. Kurdish towns, cities, and villages were attacked using chemical weapons, many people still living today suffer from health problems. By the end of it, 90% of the Kurdish towns, cities, and villages were destroyed.
Most people only learn or already know about one famous genocide that happened: the Holocaust. The Holocaust was a genocide and many don't think that something like it has happened since it ended, but many genocides have gone on without much recognition. We think that just because we don’t hear about it that it doesn’t go on. I think that more people need to know about these genocides that are going on in the world because so many innocent people are dying for how they live, what kind of person they are, and what they believe in. If more people know what is going on then there might be a better chance of ending genocide. Letting more people wont hurt not telling anyone will hurt a lot more people.

Genocide, the definition of man cruelty. Why is there even such a word for this cruel action towards human beings. The word genocide was created by Raphael Lempkin around 1948. Genos means race in greek and cide means killing in latin. To this day there is genocide all over the world. In Turkey they tried to wipe out all the Armenian Christians in 1915 and killed about 1 million people. In 1939, was when the holocaust happened. Hitler was the leader and killed around 11 million people. They killed all sorts of people but the babies, women and children were first to go.It was one of the worst events in history. In Cambodia about 2 million people were killed in 1970. It was started by Khmer rouge and they killed the rich, religious and the ethnic groups. In 1988 Saddam Hussein killed about 2 million Iranian combatants. His own people. In 2003 the Arabs were trying to take out all black Africans. They destroyed about 4 million villages. These are just a few examples of all the genocide that is still happening every day of our lives.
You should act against Genocide ! Genocide is a bad action. We all have a right to be ourselves. We should not judge people by their religion, or ethnicity. We have to be fair. Would you like it if someone didn’t like you for the way you dress, or the way you look? No One likes to be judged because of that. If you don’t like it then what makes you think others will ? We should all be against Genocide. Its cruel how people can torture children. Children are a gift from god, they aren’t meant to be tortured and killed! Genocide should not be happening. It needs to end now.

Genocide
Genocide; “the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular ethnic group or nation.” The Holocaust, the orders from Adolf Hitler to kill jews, blacks, gypsies, handicapped citizens or anyone who defied Adolf, were killed. The total death count was 5-6 million jews, 70,000 handicapped citizens, over 200,000 gypsies. These numbers are outrageous!, the fact that this took place is just flat out disturbing. But genocide brings out the truth about humanity, as long as it doesn't effect them, nobody cares, at least 95% of the population wouldn't do a single thing.
The extermination of Jews and other innocent people sadly is not the only case of genocide. Cambodia, the 1975, 2 million innocent civilians were killed, a militia group called Khmer Rough burned down villages and killed the rich, the religious and any other ethnic races not of their own. Nobody helped. After the Vietnam War in the 1960s the U.S. was not ready for another war, eventually the Vietnamese overthrew the Khmer Rouge in 1978. Even after Lemkin’s Law was developed in 1948 for everyone to stop genocide, nobody did anything, This is a representation yet again of how selfish humanity is, money over the deaths of innocent people.
The next act of genocide was committed in the 1980s by a man famous for his brutality, Saddam Hussein. The war versus Iraq and Iran is where Saddam's acts of genocide started, illegally using Chemical Warfare which was banned in 1925, Nobody won the war. The toll of deaths were roughly half a million on each side. The Rampage of Saddam Hussein was not over, within the same year after the war in 1988, Saddam attacked the kurdish, a large population in northern Iraq. It was said the reason of this act of genocide was to get iraqi control over the area, however the real achievement was not for land, it was to eliminate the problem.
Since then, there has been other unspoken acts of genocide, located in Africa tribe vs tribe, religion vs religion. After many cases of Genocide it still happens, Humanity has not learned their lesson. and until it does there will be a constant threat of genocide throughout the world. Maybe not in your backyard, but overseas, in other continents. Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean its not happening, please take the time educate others.
